5 Things to Look Forward to at the 2015 Breeders’ Cup®

By Victoria Barnett September 22, 2015

We are so thrilled about the 2015 Breeders’ Cup and for good reason! The two days spent at Keeneland will be filled with so much excitement and action, and we know it will be one for the books. There are so many things to look forward to this year, but we’ve narrowed it down to five. Take a look below at five things to get pumped up about at this year’s Breeders’ Cup!

1. American Pharoah

How can we not get excited about seeing American Pharoah finish out his career? He’s already won the
Triple Crown™, and now we get to see him go for horse racing’s “Grand Slam.” This horse has been a clear favorite throughout the year, and for good reason. His talent, precision and tenacity is a breath of fresh air in the horse racing world.

Although he suffered a devastating loss recently in the Travers’ Stakes, we know American Pharoah will shine in the Breeders’ Cup. He does have quite the competition including Frosted and Beholder, but it should make for an exciting race!

2. Trackside Luxury Chalet

The Trackside Luxury Chalet is THE place to witness the racing action at the 2015 Breeders’ Cup. Enjoy first-class access to this all-inclusive party venue which includes a premium open bar and lunch buffet. Witness the racing action from the second floor or from the rail, or make your way to the lawn!

Located in the Clubhouse turn, this chalet offers a spectacular view of the track.  There’s no better place to see the championship racing than from inside this climate-controlled, glassed-in venue. Here’s your chance to discover what Breeders’ Cup and Keeneland are all about!

3. Keeneland

For the first time, Keeneland will host the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Keeneland is located in the heart of Central Kentucky’s Bluegrass region, the center of the Thoroughbred breeding industry.  It’s truly a homecoming for the event considering the idea of the Breeders’ Cup originated in Central Kentucky.

Horse racing fans, owners, trainers and jockeys LOVE Keeneland as it plays a unique and important role in both Thoroughbred racing and breeding. This National Historic Landmark will absolutely take your breath away with its rich history and beautifully landscaped grounds.

4. Fashion

Breeders’ Cup is known for many things and one of them just so happens to be fashion. This is what makes the event so fun; guests certainly dress to the nines! The women typically wear elegant dresses paired with stunning fascinators or hats, and the men wear suits and fedoras. The key is to remember elegance and sophistication. But just know that one element of your attire should be over the top so you can stand out among the rest.

Keep in mind that Lexington, Kentucky will be a little chilly so be sure to dress comfortably and warm! Opt for fall clothing and colors, and remember to wear comfortable shoes. For women, dressy wedges tend to be the most comfortable for grass.

Be bold! This is the World Championship of horse racing, so it calls for the ultimate attire.
